Chirp No. 4 - BOTTA

Chirp No. 4 - BOTTA
This striking avian dwelling references the formal language of Swiss architect Mario Botta, known for his powerful use of pure geometric volumes articulated through texture and pattern.
Composed of two offset rectilinear forms, the design balances clarity of structure with functional intent. The upper volume—perforated with a disciplined grid of circular openings—facilitates passive ventilation, while the lower, more solid enclosure provides shelter and protection for the nest. The subtle gap between the two elements reinforces the sense of tectonic layering and allows for additional airflow, echoing Botta’s interplay of mass, void, and environmental responsiveness.
