The Cutting Board That’s a True Original

Your kitchen is full of character—shouldn’t your cutting board be, too? Meet Burl (Slate’s smaller cousin), the board that’s as unique as the swirling, knotty wood it’s inspired by. Crafted from solid maple (preferred by professional chefs), it’s built to handle all your slicing, dicing, and occasional dramatic herb chopping, all while looking ridiculously good on your countertop.

With its one-of-a-kind grain pattern, no two Burl boards are the same—kind of like your culinary creations (some intentional, some… experimental). Tough enough to take on everything from crusty baguettes to stubborn squash, yet stylish enough to make your fruit bowl jealous, Burl is the MVP of meal prep.

So whether you’re an actual chef or just someone who really enjoys assembling a charcuterie board, Burl is here to make your kitchen look and feel effortlessly elevated—because even your chopping deserves a touch of artistry.

Additional Product Info

Material: Crafted from premium, hand-picked white maple, because your kitchen deserves nothing less. Each Burl cutting board has its own unique character grain patterns, colors, and finish will vary slightly, making every board one-of-a-kind (just like your culinary skills). Call it charm, personality, or just wood being its wonderfully natural self.

Dimensions: 15 1/2” L x 8” W x 1” H (Packaging Dimensions: 16” x 8 1/2” x 2 1/2”)

Use: Before your Burl cutting board gets to work, give it a little love. Season it with food-grade mineral oil to keep it looking fresh and performing at its best. To properly season, warm the mineral oil slightly (think cozy, not boiling) and apply it in the direction of the wood grain with a clean, dry cloth. Let it soak in, then repeat the process for that extra touch of TLC. Once it’s all soaked up, let the board dry and wipe off any excess oil. Your Burl will thank you.

Care Guide:

1 - Hand-wash only. Give your Burl a good scrub with hot, soapy water, and dry it thoroughly. No dishwashers this board prefers a more personal touch.

2 - No soaking. Your Burl cutting board isn’t a sponge, so keep it out of the water. A quick rinse is all it needs.

3 - Moisturize just like you. Burl gets dry sometimes. Every now and then, rub it down with food-safe mineral oil to keep the wood hydrated and happy.

4 - Sanitize. Give your board a quick refresh by washing with a mix of one part vinegar to five parts water. Your Slate will be sparkling clean and ready for the next meal prep.

5 - Odor removal. To banish any lingering smells, rub your board with kosher or table salt and half a lemon. Let it sit for 2–3 minutes, then wipe clean with a damp cloth. Dry off with a paper towel and let the Slate air-dry, standing up like a true pro.

6 - Store properly. Keep your Burl in a dry place, away from extreme temperatures. No need to expose your board to heatwaves or the freezer just a nice, cozy spot.
