Chirp No. 8 - PIANO

Chirp No. 8 - PIANO
This avian dwelling draws precedent from the Jean-Marie Tjibaou Cultural Centre by Renzo Piano—an internationally celebrated architect and Pritzker Prize laureate known for his refined integration of technology, lightness, and context.
Vertical fluted panels define the birdhouse’s exterior, lending a textured rhythm to the envelope. Select portions of these panels are extruded upward, rising past the main volume to create a layered enclosure reminiscent of Piano’s ventilated façades. These articulated extensions allow for passive airflow beneath the roofline and discreetly frame the entry point, balancing environmental responsiveness with formal elegance.
